What is Desiderium?

A focused fantasy battle game.

Desiderium is designed for players who want the character and tactical texture of a miniatures wargame without turning every turn into an exercise in bookkeeping.

Armies are compact enough for individual units to matter, but large enough to feel like true battlefield forces. The rules are being built on a strong, consistent core so that factions, scenarios, and special abilities can create variety without asking players to relearn the game every time they sit down at the table.

The design at a glance

Built around the battle, not the rulebook.

01

Warband Scale

Roughly 25–40 miniatures per side: enough bodies for maneuver, attrition, and combined tactics without requiring an enormous collection.

02

Measured Crunch

Enough detail to make positioning, command choices, and unit identity matter—without overburdening the player with constant exceptions.

03

Strong Core Framework

A consistent rules engine provides the foundation, while factions and scenarios layer character and asymmetry on top of it.

Current status

Desiderium is under active development.

Rules, faction material, scenarios, and digital tools are still being built and refined. This site will grow alongside the game.
